Adam Shoalts is a historian, archaeologist, geographer and Westway Explorer in Residence at the Royal Canadian Geographical Society. Shoalts holds a Ph.D. from McMaster University where his research examined the influence Indigenous oral traditions had on the fur traders in the sub-Arctic and the Pacific Northwest. The author of A History of Canada in Ten Maps, Alone Against the North, Beyond the Trees and most recently The Whisper on the Night Wind each a national bestseller in Canada.
